This webinar describes the key performance indicators (KPIs) that matter most when measuring the impact of telepalliative care. We used EHR and billing records from one large health system to develop KPI indicators. These include: access, timeliness of consultation, hospital length of stay, discharge outcomes, cost savings, readmissions, and patient and provider satisfaction.

Acute mental health concerns, severe medical symptoms, intoxication, violence risk, medication toxicity, and other rapidly evolving situations require clinicians to make timely decisions despite the limitations of remote assessment. A structured approach can help clinicians recognize risk, communicate clearly, and support defensible clinical decision making.
